Every winter the professional surfing community descends upon the small town of Haleiwa on the North Shore of Oahu. It's this reason waterman and board builder, Kyle Bernhardt calls Haleiwa home. His mission; to design and build innovative, high-performance surf and paddleboards while being mindful of the natural setting he calls home.

His latest creations all feature Super Sap epoxy bio resins as the main laminating and hot coat resin. It's combination of strength and flex are the key to making high performance equipment that Kyle's pro athletes and recreational customers demand.

Based on the North Shore of Hawaii, Kyle Bernhardt has been designing and building quality surfboards for professionals and recreational surfers since 1987.

The outstanding performance of Bernhardt Shapes has been endorsed by Hawaii's best surfers, including longboard world champs Bonga Perkins & Duane DeSoto, Flynn Novak, and Daniel Jones. Also a pioneer in standup paddleboard design, Kyle has built custom boards for top downwind paddlers including Monique Mironesco and Andrew Logreco, who recently took first place in the Molokai to Oahu World Championship Paddle Race on a Bernhardt board powered by Super Sap. In December 2008, Hawaii governor Linda Lingle presented Kyle with the Governor's Innovation Award for his notable efforts in sustainable surfboard design.
